Savoy Tavern

Originally designed and built by the Carlton and United Brewery in 1972 to be a drinking ‘barn’ catering to a ‘rough west end’, the Savoy Tavern lay derelict for many years. Under the leadership of charismatic owner Samuel Daish, the pub has undergone a complete transformation in less than a year, being carefully refurbished from the 70’s decaying décor to a modern, stylish inner city aesthetic. Since its transformation, it has quickly become a melting pot for people from the Hoddle grid to the Docklands. A start up establishment itself, The Savoy Tavern is proud to be the home of That Start Up Show and to support the entrepreneurial spirit of Melbourne.
