Anna Reeves

Anna is creative entrepreneur, producer and writer with a passion for culture change storytelling. She has worked for leading media production houses including: CordellJigsawZapruder, XYZ Films/Foxtel, and Renegade as a business affairs & brand manager. She was the US Campaign Director for a high profile worldwide anti-poverty campaign, The Global Poverty Project, and was Charity Partnerships Manager for Lux & Eco, an online eco-store working on projects such as Red Carpet Green Dress for the Oscars. She is the creator and co founder of That StartUp Show, a web-series focused on start up culture released on Virgin worldwide with a global viewership of over one million. She is currently working on The Stand In My Shoes Project, a VR documentary film and education lab exploring the evolution of empathy. She has a Bachelor of Arts and Law from Australian National University and was accepted into the Victorian College of the Arts for drama/acting.  She is a regular MC & speaker at startup and creative industry events.

Sally Gatenby

Co-Founder / COO / Executive Producer / Co-Producer

Sally is a communications and media specialist with over a decade’s experience championing and developing communications for the technology and entrepreneurial ecosystems.  A technology evangelist, Sally has worked for Qualcomm Europe and Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) in the UK as European Communications Manager, and in Australia developed the web content and social media strategies for IDP IELTS Australia. In 2013, Sally founded Larkspur Communications, a lean PR and communications agency focused on startups and has worked with many of Australia’s leading startups. Sally was Communications Manager at Starfish Ventures, an Australian based venture capital firm with over $400M funds under management. Sally holds a Bachelor of Information Management and Systems from Monash University.

Ahmed Salama

Co-Founder / Creative Director / Executive Producer

Ahmed is an award winning creative director, designer, developer and patent author. Ahmed’s passion for startups began when he began designing and selling websites door to door at age 14. Since then, he’s won numerous awards and nominations (two time Directors Guild Award Nominee, AIMIA Award winner) for his prolific work in digital storytelling. With a passion for combining design, technology and storytelling, he’s produced viral hits such as the ‘Free Hugs Campaign’, which gained an audience of 200 million people worldwide and internet cult hit “The Tunnel” – the first feature film to be crowd funded and released for free via BitTorrent, iPad, Cinema, DVD and VOD simultaneously, with over 15 million downloads world wide.  He recently has worked as CMO to launch event ticketing platform Outix. Ahmed is also co founder of The Stand In My Shoes Project, a VR empathy lab and documentary film. He holds Master of Design degree from the College of Fine Art UNSW.

Dan Ilic

Dan Ilic is one of Australia’s most prolific comedy filmmakers. His credits include: 702 ABC Sydney (ABC) Australia’s Funniest Home Videos (Nine), The Olympic Show (NBC), The Ronnie Johns Half Hour (Ten), The Mansion (Comedy), Hungry Beast (ABC), Hamster Wheel (ABC), Can of Worms (Ten). As a comedian Dan has performed on stage and at festivals all around the world, including New York, Edinburgh and Afghanistan. He is the creator of Sydney sketch club night Comicide, and co-founded the long running Sydney improv show Full Body Contact No Love Tennis, and the live satirical smash hit radio program A Rational Fear (FBi Radio / ABC RN). He has also been an Executive Producer and satirical news anchor for Al Jeezra and more recently US network Fusion TV.

Andy Matthews

Season1 - Head Writer

A Tasmanian born, Melbourne based comedian, Andy has been performing stand up comedy for four years, and took out third place in Australia’s biggest open mic comedy competition, RAW Comedy, in 2013.  He studied electrical engineering and physics at Uni, but currently works in television as a writer for Channel 10’s The Project and has written and performed sketches for the ABC as part of the ‘Fresh Blood’ program.  His production company ‘Stupid Old Studios’ produces a web channel ‘Stupid Old Channel’ packed with comedy sketches and programs, and the ‘Two in the Think Tank’ podcast.

Josh is a writer & producer originally from Marin County, California who lives and works in Melbourne. After graduating from the University of Southern California he moved abroad to escape the Bush Administration. Josh has written for the ABC comedy shows, You’re Skitting Me and The Elegant Gentleman’s Guide to Knife Fighting as well as the New Zealand news and satire panel shows 7 Days and 7 Days of Sport. He has also served as a Segment Producer and Head Writer on the variety show, Live on Bowen. His web series, Sex or Breakfast, is up on YouTube.

From there she transitioned into television. Her credits include: The Amazing Race, MasterChef, The Block and more recently Big Brother, SharkTank and My Restaurant Rules. A keen tech and gadget enthusiast with an interest in the intersection between television and digital. She brings a production expertise and a passion for tech to That Start Up Show and is looking forward to sharing the latest and greatest start up ideas with the world.
